Webcam 1-2-3

Three Quick Steps to Start Using Webcam 1-2-3

If you do not know how to configure FTP or web server, it is recommended that you use the default setting.

1. Setup -> 2.Publish -> 3.Broadcast

Setup

You need to install your camera before using Webcam 1-2-3. Start Webcam 1-2-3 after installed. You will see the video when you start Webcam 1-2-3. Click on "Setup" button on the toolbar. Follow the instructions below to set up Webcam 1-2-3.

  • My computer will be used as a web server and a webcam server.
    Click on the Setup button to set up your HTTP server. You may enter your domain name or IP address in the "Webcam server name" field. Webcam 1-2-3 HTML filename is the file name of the webpage, which Webcam 1-2-3 will create for you when you click on "Publish" button on the toolbar. Click on Browse to set the path of your web documents. Click on the HTTP button to start the HTTP server.


  • I host my web pages on another web server. I want Webcam 1-2-3 to upload the captured images.
    Click on the Setup button to set up FTP. Click the FTP tab, and then enter the FTP hostname, user ID, password, and the path to upload images. Please be sure that the server has FTP service running. After you click on Publish, Webcam 1-2-3 will create web page for you. You also need to upload other files created by Webcam 1-2-3. Webcam 1-2-3 will transfer the captured images to the server you specified. Click on the FTP button to toggle FTP upload. (The files you need to upload include default.htm, kklogo.gif and the .class files.)


  • I don't have a fixed IP for my PC.
    Click on the HTTP button to start the HTTP server. For registered users, you can enjoy the redirect service. Click on the "Member URL" tab and enter your Webcam 1-2-3 password. Webcam 1-2-3 displays the redirect URL when you click on the "Publish" button on the toolbar. You can email your friends this URL for them to visit your website.


  • (Note: If you start HTTP server, please make sure you have set up the IP address correctly in Webcam 1-2-3. Your current IP address for Webcam 1-2-3 is displayed on the title bar of Webcam 1-2-3. You can type in "ipconfig" under CMD prompt to show the IP address on your machine. To change your IP address, you can click on Setup button. In the HTTP server page, enter your IP address correctly.)

Publish

You have just finished setting up Webcam 1-2-3. Now you are ready to publish your video. To add the messengers or e-mail information for your page, enter your e-mail, ICQ, AOL AIM, or Yahoo Messenger ID in the My Info page.

Click on the "Publish" button on the toolbar. Click on the "Publish and Preview" button will bring up the browser to preview the webcam page you just created!

Broadcast

Congratulations! You are now broadcasting the video on the net.
