How do I check network connection is reachable?
If you see "cannot find server" message, please try ipconfig or ping to check your
network connection.
- To find out the IP address of your webcam server
On the computer where Webcam 1-2-3 or Watchdog is installed,
go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories ->Command Prompt or MS-DOS
enter ipconfig
You'll see your current IP address. (Please note IP addresses, such as 127.0.0.1,
192.168.x.x, , 169.254.x.x or 10.0.0.x, are not accessible from Internet. You need
to find out your external IP address or your router's IP address.)
enter ping your_IP_address
Ping your IP address from Internet or WAN.
If you see "Request time out", you may enter the wrong IP address or the network
connection is broken.
